Well I Always Wanted To Fly - 9-1-1988
"Well, I always wanted to fly but had no plane. I took our 'Bomberchute' (umbrella) up to our garage roof - I was 8 or 9 years old at the time and we lived in Flat River, MO. Of course, Mom didn't know of this little adventure. Luckily it was not a very high garage. I guess at that age I didn't really know if I would float down or not.
I poised myself on the edge of the garage roof, lifted my umbrella high and jumped. Unfortunately I broke my neck and died so I can't tell you the end to this story.
But if you ever get to Heaven and see a little angel flying around with an umbrella instead of wings - that would be me."
